It seems as though AuthPass is built as a ‘snap’ which is (in my opinion) a wholly inappropriate distribution format for a desktop application.
It would be far better to distribute AuthPass as a Flatpak or Appimage. Don’t really mind which, but I’m not going to be installing Snap on my Arch and OpenSUSE desktop systems.
Anyone got any preference for this?
I don’t mind either way, would welcome both contributions. You can find an example how the snap is built at: https://github.com/authpass/authpass/blob/master/snap/snapcraft.yaml which basically runs as part of the CI github action in https://github.com/authpass/authpass/blob/83bebd1d338bea69be1ae8eceb77532c68a4bcde/.github/workflows/linux.yml#L61-L62
I think Flatpak provides an easier upgrade mechanism through flathub? but I haven’t used either.
